How accurately can you 3D print my model?

Dimensional accuracy relates to the deviation of a printed part from the nominal size of the 3D model. The accuracy strongly depends on the selected material and technology.

Please note that accuracy and level of detail are not the same things. The level of detail can be described as the difference in height between two surfaces (e.g. extruded text on a surface).

Accuracy values are listed below and clearly indicated in the Technical specifications on each material page.

Technology Material Accuracy
Metal 3D printing

Aluminum (AlSi10Mg)

Titanium (Ti6Al4V)

Stainless Steel (SS316L)

Inconel (IN718)

Better than or equal to  the industry standards:
- DCTG 6 of DIN EN ISO 8062-3 for dimensions between 0.5 and 30 mm
- DCTG 8 of DIN EN ISO 8062-3 for dimensions between 30 and 400 mm
- DIN ISO 2768 -1 c (coarse) for dimensions between 0.5 mm and 400 mm

See design guidelines for more information on standard accuracy.

* Please note that our CAD team will position the parts so that the lowest dimension is positioned in the Z-axis for the best possible result. By selecting the ‘keep orientation’ option, you acknowledge that the general rule described above will not be followed as the the orientation will not be modified by our CAD team.
